Communication with Parents
The Buckley Amendment
The ASC staff welcomes communication from parents of our students. We believe that parents have valuable information that can help us to help our students be more successful. Parents can fill us in on the information that is not printed in the documentation or high school transcripts. The type of information that we can communicate to parents is constrained by the Buckley Amendment of the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act. All grades and midterm reports are sent directly to you the student. Unless you sign a release form, the ASC staff may not tell parents about specific grades. Students are encouraged, though, to share this information with their parents.
