Introduction

If you are a student with a disability at McDaniel College (McDaniel College), you are not alone. Whether you realize it or not, there are students with disabilities attending most colleges and universities across the country. McDaniel College is one such school. College students with disabilities are intelligent, talented, and capable individuals who have met the standards for admission to the institution. In part, the success of these students can be attributed to their ability to cope effectively with the added challenges of a disability. Difficulties that are normally experienced by high school students with disabilities can become magnified at the college level. The pressures and academic challenges of four-year schools are great, as you will soon find. You will also soon find, though, that college is a great experience.  All students with documented disabilities are entitled to reasonable accommodations from the college. Reasonable accommodations can come in the form of physical accessibility, alternative testing arrangements, and others. The purpose of the Academic Skills Center is to aid students in arranging for these accommodations, as well as to work with the faculty advisor to advise students with disabilities throughout their college career.
