Role of the ASC
The ASC is set up in a similar manner as a resource room in a high school. The ASC will help the student with all of the Students Responsibilities listed earlier until such time that the student can perform these independently. It is recognized that first year students may not be able to negotiate for accommodations with their faculty without assistance. The Coordinator of the ASC will assist the student in arranging for the accommodations with the faculty. The Coordinator is the on campus advocate for the student. ASC graduate students work closely with undergraduates in many areas of academic performance including note review, test preparation, writing, and memorization skills.
